Hand-Cut French Rasps
The Best Things was one of the original importers of Auriou hand-cut French rasps into the United States. These hand-cut rasps were of the highest quality and when this company collapsed into bankruptcy, we were shocked. Now, we are proud to be able to announce the reintroduction into the US market of hand-cut French rasps of the highest quality. These rasps are made for us, in France, under our TBT Tools brand. In fact, some of the former employees of Auriou are involved in the manufacture of the rasps. We hope that you will agree that no better rasps have ever been offered, either now or in the past.
Like with the original Auriou rasps that we formerly carried, there are three parameters that define our hand-cut French rasps. The length, the coarseness (as measured in approximate number of teeth per centimeter), and the style. These rasps are all picked "right-handed". We can special order any rasp as "left-handed" as well, but the waiting time could be signficant depending on where we are on an order cycle. It is our opinion that a left handed person will have no problem using the standard "right-handed" rasps.
We include a Lutz file handle free of charge with every with every TBT Tools and Nicholson hand-cut rasp we sell. We also sell the Lutz file handles & cleaners separately (see the Lutz page). Lutz file handles are made in the USA (Maine) with native birch and are of the best quality.
