This is a journal, published once a year by the Chipstone Foundation, focusing on scholarly studies of American furniture. Covers all periods, but emphasis is on the 18th century. Started in 1993, this journal has become an exciting forum for the latest thinking on American furniture. Unlike many scholarly books, this book is interesting and useful to a semi-casual audience as well. The wealth of photos, including many close-ups and construction details, make this book very valuable to cabinetmakers. The first year, 1993, was a bit dull as they were just getting started, but every year thereafter has been great. Thus, we carry each edition except for 1993. A must own.
